I’ve always been a bit of a freak when it comes to security, and if there’s one place I want to feel completely comfortable, it’s in my own home. There are so many different areas that need to be secure, but the openings are obviously the most important. This includes front doors, back doors, side doors, garage doors, windows and skylights.

No building is fully secure until all of the openings are protected. If every single one of these is secure then you will have drastically improved the level of security in your home, and that’s what I’ve done.

My doors are made from steel, with complex locking systems, while I’ve fitted motion sensors so lights will come on to warn me. Okay so far only my girlfriend and our cat has set these off, but it’s good to know they’re working.
